1. Controller

2. Local Data Processing
The application processes scan results locally on your device, including IP addresses, hostnames, MAC addresses,
detected manufacturers, round-trip time (RTT), and open ports. The application also stores local settings such as
language, theme, scan mode, ports, and online vendor lookup preference in %APPDATA%/IPScannerGUI/settings.json.
3. Optional External Data Transfer
If you enable "Online vendor lookup", the application may send MAC/OUI data to api.macvendors.com
to resolve hardware manufacturer names. This feature is optional and disabled by default.
4. Third-Country Transfers and Provider Details
The lookup endpoint api.macvendors.com is operated by an independent third-party provider.
23 Systems does not operate this service and cannot fully control where the provider processes data.
Depending on provider infrastructure, requests may be processed in countries outside the EU/EEA
("third countries").
Data categories potentially transmitted when enabled:
- MAC address or OUI prefix used for manufacturer lookup
- Technical metadata generated by the request path (for example IP address and timestamps at provider side)
Risk note: In third countries, the level of data protection may differ from EU standards and enforceable data subject rights may be limited in some cases.
Safeguard in this application: the feature is off by default and only used after your explicit action (opt-in). You can disable it at any time in app settings.
5. Legal Basis (GDPR)
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the software service requested by the user) and, for optional external vendor lookup, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent/choice to enable the feature).
6. International Transfer Basis
Where external lookup traffic is routed outside the EU/EEA, transfer is based on your explicit opt-in (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR, where applicable) for this optional feature. If you do not want such transfers, keep the feature disabled.
7. Retention
Scan results are not automatically transmitted to 23 Systems. Exported files are stored only where you save them. Local settings remain on your device until you remove the application data or uninstall the software.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
